A research, made in the Journal of the International Society of Anthrozoology, notes that girls who squeeze in bed with their dog get a better sleep.

The research found that girls get a better sleep with a doggy than a cat or another person next to them.

«Compared with human bed partners, dogs who slept in the owner’s bed were perceived to disturb sleep less and were associated with stronger feelings of comfort and security,» the research said.

Researchers surveyed nearly 1,000 women in the United States to study the relationships between pet ownership and human sleep.

Fifty-five percent of participants sleep with at least one dog and thirty-one percent with at least one cat.

The research also pointed out that a dog owner wakes up and goes to bed earlier than individuals who had felines or other animals but no dogs.

Felines who slept in their owner’s bed were reported to be fairly the same as a partner, and were related with weaker feelings of comfort and safety than both human and dog bed partners.
